Our culture, these days. It is so harsh on the minds of our people. Concerning beauty, media throws the idea that only thin, curvy, big boobs(sometimes flat), and a nice butt is most beautiful. I’m posting this to express that that is wrong.

First of all, i strongly believe that beauty is within the personality of a person. E.g. There was a girl in my 1960’s elective last year who had worn too-big working boots, a long leather jacket, some worn t-shirts and had a haircut that was not flattering to her sweet face. People made fun of her as she walked by and in the first weeks of class i heard jokes about not loving her if she were the last person on Earth. But this girl was so immensely intelligent and told the class stories of her military father and her experiences with the military and she would laugh at little funny remarks people made and she would explain topics in full detail to those who misunderstood. Every time she spoke every person in the room listened. She spoke with her hands and had such a sweet voice. No one laughed at her anymore at the end of the year. Her personality made her beautiful. I found myself not even considering what she looked like and wishing to befriend her.

Second of all, you will never be happy with whatever you look like EVER, if you do not learn to love yourself for who you are now internally and externally. E.g. i recently read that a girl was having trouble loving the way she looked. She wanted to learn to love herself so she took pictures in her bra and shorts. She’s trying to show herself how beautiful she IS with shorts on, with no shorts on, with no shirt on… loving her body! Wonderful. And also for example… there was this girl who really has huge thighs.Very, very large. She was overweight and was slow to walk. But that beautiful young woman put shorts on her large body, walked around the fair WITH HER BOYFRIEND, and looked confident and beautiful!! I was blessed enough to witness it. God bless her.

So learn to love your body and learn to love your mind and learn to always just be you because thatis what makes you beautiful.
